Product Launch Checklist – Perform a product launch is one of the best ways to gain massive exposure for your product in a short time.
Whenever you want to launch a product you’ll need to plan and manage the launch. Product launch strategy is one of the most important things to make your product successful in the market. Product launch makes people interested to know more detail about your product and at the same time gives a great impact to make your product getting a lot of sales. At the same you are building an email list as well.
It also helps prevent false claims for your product, but it also dependent on how well your presentation is. The good presentation is able to make people say: “Ok, now I know your product and I understand it will benefit me, I would buy your product!” Well, let’s talk about product launch plan.
Product Launch Checklist
Prepare the presentation. Make at least 3 videos to demonstrate and explain your product details and its benefits. You can use slideshow presentation that contains text to explain your product details or yourself on the video explains people about your product, or combining of both slideshow and yourself – yourself at the beginning and closing of the presentation.
Consider offering a free PDF report. I found several product launch promotions are offering a free PDF report as well, in addition of the presentation. If you think this is a good option please consider offering it, but if you think it’s not too important please ignore it.
Consider perform Webinar during pre-launch. People love to connect directly, it gives a chance for them to ask and get answered at that moment.
Pre-launch period. Usually the pre-launch period is about 1-2 weeks (many people prefer one week).
Contact as many as possible internet marketers. This process is really dependent on the extent of your network, if you have known many Internet marketers (from their blog, Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, or whatever the way you know them) this process will be easier, in opposite if you just know a bit of Internet marketers you’ll need more work to compile the contact detail.
Find at least 50-100 contacts. Because half of them or more may not responding your email, if you can afford more than 100 that will be better.
Contest. Product launch promotion is a contest. This makes people enthusiastic to promote your product and marking their calendar on the pre-launch period. The prizes can be in cash money or electronic goods or whatever that has value such as accessing to other products (your own product or other people – your partner – product). Here are some ideas of the contest:
- Giving away randomly to people who commenting, tweet, like, or share your page.
- Giving away to people who send the leads at most. You can give the prizes to the five, ten or twenty people.
- Giving away to the first person who send 50, 100 leads (the figure is at your choice)
- Anything that is creative and able to attract people to participate in the launch.
Allowing purchase before the launch date. Ideally you should not allow the purchase before the launch date, but some product owners allow visitors to make a purchase even before the launch date. The newest sample of allowing purchase before the launch date is My Millionaire Mentor 2011 (Launch date on Jan 25, 2011) by Michael Cheney. During pre-launch Michael Cheney was offering for free one of his ebook and daily live webcam training until the launch date, the pre-launch period lasts for one week. Squeeze page or Offer page. If you decide to not allowing purchase during the pre-launch period then usually the home page is a squeeze page to capture email list. Describe as best as possible the benefits of your product so that people are interested to fill in their email and enthusiastic to know more detail about you product. After they fill in their name and email address, they will be brought to your presentation page, a.k.a. your pre-launch page.

I still remember the pre-launch period of SEO Pressor by Daniel Tan. You may plan your strategy that is not same as I mentioned above, could be your plan better or could be more complete. I also saw many successful products even they are not adding all the product launch checklists above. It’s depending on you; your product type, your budget, and more.
One of most important things is offering the best, both for your affiliates (Internet marketers) and your visitors. Some people decide to not promoting product launches because of many reasons. Your job is handling any possible thing that can make your affiliates dissatisfied. And your responsibility to the visitors is the quality of your product, your product is not a junk product and able to resolve people problem, this is the way your product should be.
